Overview

Caplan is Neptuny's business aware capacity management solution. It is aimed at frequent and comprehensive business-oriented capacity planning with minimum resource investments.

Caplan is agentless, i.e. it does not require proprietary agents to be installed: it uses standard and custom connectors as well as Extract Transform and Load (ETL) technology to populate a data warehouse with infrastructure data from system monitoring and management tools, as well as business-related data retrieved from business applications.

Caplan also provides integration facilities for custom repository and legacy warehouses (typically used to collect data about business volumes and configuration data managed by custom change and configuration systems). 

Caplan correlates infrastructure and business KPIs across components, such as servers, storage systems and databases. Customers and analysts are impressed by the solution's analytical capability, which includes 'what if' analysis, and the wide range of management tools Caplan can use to gather data. Caplan can be used to plan virtualized environments as well.
